We said goodbye to our Monarch friends last week.  We enjoyed watching them form their chrysalis, emerge and then begin their journey to Mexico.

Before leaving, I was able to feed a few of them.
This one was VERY hungry. :)

While enjoying our monarch caterpillars, our science teacher also found a few of these little guys munching on parsley in our raised beds out back.

Tiger Swallow Tail Caterpillars!

She told us that they will winter in the chrysalis stage and then emerge in the spring.  So cool!  We can't wait to see these beautiful butterflies emerge!
Science Rocks!

  1. I'm sure your kids loved watching science right before their eyes.
